Bak kut teh at Balestier while shopping for lights – a major deja-vu moment from my childhood. Yibs, do you remember? We came here with Cody (our cousin) when we were kids. :)
It pays to be eagle-eyed in lighting shops – we found these wall lights in a dim corner, hidden from view; after half an hour of (post-)rationalizing where to place them, they’ll go near our dining area and front door.
The prettiest, creamiest cat I’ve seen. L-O-V-E.
Some of the darlingest friends one could ever have. And who keep me laughing even when I’m feeling down.
This is the view from the waiting area near the operating suites at the hospital. One of the most nerve-wracking moments of my life, while waiting for mum to come out of surgery – this Christmas tree reminded me to always be hopeful.
Countdown to the new year in chilly Hanoi – I felt very blessed and loved, and thankful for being able to end the year on a grand note :-)

which bak kut teh place is that ? looks so old school, I like ! was it peppery or herbal ?
I had to search online to find the name – I just remembered it by relative location! It’s called Kai Juan Bak Kut Teh : http://www.soshiok.com/article/15652
It’s a balance between peppery and herbal, on the light side – similar to the ‘Outram Ya Hua’ branch that I just looove. (That’s located at Keppel though, don’t be misled by the name :-))
Hey Zee, we chose that lamp for our common toilet! We spotted it at one of the popular light stores at Balestier and fell for it the moment we saw it. Best of all – it was super affordable. We had it up recently and the effects were just beautiful…almost surreal.
I don’t want this to come out sounding wierd, but I realized that we shared a couple of similar tastes especially in the decor/furniture department. Very coincidentally, we will be living in the same estate.(^o^)
Hey Joy, great to know the lights look lovely when installed! Haha it’s awesome that we will be living in the same estate!! :-) have you guys moved in already then?
Happy Chinese New Year, wishing you and your family good health and happiness :-)
Gong Xi Fa Cai to your family and you as well! Nope, we haven’t moved in, as reno is still work-in-progress. We are aiming to do so by late Feb/ early Mar. I’m definitely looking forward to having my own place…when are you targeting to move in?
Ooh then we’re likely to move in around the same time :-) Early / mid Mar most probably. Yay! Have fun buying furniture & decorating your place!
Must show pics then…and one that includes our retro lamp! I’m sure your place will look brilliant!
