matte.

After marvelling at Joycey’s wonderful Chanel lipstick contraption yesterday night… (it’s this one – it’s got a neat press-down-click mechanism to get the lippie out of its sleek black shell)

I’ve got lipsticks on the brain!

I’ve never really been convinced I could rock red lips – especially since I don’t wear eye makeup (i.e. mascara, eyeshadow et al). But now I’m very tempted to try these babies out just for the heck of it.

An (almost) bare-faced natural look…

Slightly off-topic but I can’t resist these cat-shaped lippies. You apply with the back of the cat’s head! So adorable.

So, which red lippie brand do you love? And which shade works for you? I would love to hear your recommendations… x

yeah i’m intrigued by the idea of bright lips – it’s a bit scary to try but seems like a lot of fun if u pick the right shade.

besides the red chanel i had the other night, i also have a few true matte reds from mac, dior, and revlon and the revlon one is actually probably the best bang for your buck if your lips don’t tend to get flaky easily! the matte one in a little black tube with a silver ring around the middle lasts foreverrrrrrr. the other formulas seem a bit more hydrating so i use them more but they run off a bit quicker!

thanksies darling! ah, i see :-) yes my lips do tend to dry out quickly and get all irritated when it’s dry. so i will have to trade off staying power for moisture a little it seems then. i have my eye on this MAC cremesheen one in a gorgeous bright pink, but OOS in Singapore! boo.
