all together, with feeling now

what if you could see, really see

… what you were eating?

Food photographer Caren Alpert uses a scanning electron microscope (SEM) to visually reinforce the fact that processed foods are more sinister than they seem. What surprised me – and what was exactly her point – was that processed foods had way simpler-looking chemical structures than naturally-occurring foods. Some of the patterns shown (especially in the natural foods) were simply stunning – I’d love to see them as giant murals in a home.
