the lyrics take me away

sweet nothing.

“And I’ve, well, seen a thousand things in one place

But I stopped my counting when I saw your face

Erasing memory, well I feel as though I’ve never seen your face before

Until I saw your eyes

And they’re smiling back at me through my tears

I’ve been counting all these years, oh

Suddenly the thousand things I’ve seen were nothing more than dreams

Of you and me

You and me

Quietly at a standstill now

Fortunately you will, well you’ll kiss me, I will

I will kiss you back”

the lyrics take me away, Weddings

An Apache blessing.

“Now you will feel no rain,
For each of you will be the shelter to the other.
Now you will feel no cold,
For each of you will be the warmth to the other.
Now there will be no loneliness,
For each of you will be the companion to the other.

Now you are two persons,
But there is only one life before you.
May beauty surround you both
In the journey ahead and through all the years.
May happiness be your companion
And your days together be good and long upon this earth.”

We had our solemniser Isabel read this passage out as a blessing and a reminder, just before the ceremony ended. It really resonated with us, so true, simple and beautiful :)

rollofilm, the lyrics take me away

Rockstar by Kevin Lester.

Kevin is my ex-colleague K’s boyfriend, but that’s not the reason why I’m sharing his first music video with you.

He’s a ridiculously talented rapper, and usually you’d find him with the hip-hop/soul/funk band Sixx (who are also amazing, especially ‘live’!) but this is his brave foray out on his own.

Oh, and he’s a great guy, who’s got some talented friends (who helped record/film/appear in/make this video).

Take a look and let me know what you think :)

all together, with feeling now, the lyrics take me away

Tell me, what’s the deal with the static

Hello, hello! It’s Monday, and we got back from Chiang Mai yesterday night. Unfortunately, I’ve been down with a horrid, hacking cough that’s been plaguing me ever since that fateful Friday afternoon when we endured 6pm-traffic fumes for half an hour on a tuk-tuk. Ugh.

I still have yet to upload all the photos from the trip (I have work!!!), but I promise to do so as soon as I can… in the meantime, take a listen to Sondre Lerche’s new song, Heartbeat Radio. I heart Sondre Lerche, seriously.

Have a good first day of the week, loves! x

all together, with feeling now, the lyrics take me away, this could be anything

gold in the air of summer.

Oh, Weekend. I enjoyed you.

getting a pedicure with Monny, and soft-boiled eggs, heart-to-hearts & hot milk tea after

a knot-releasing, much-needed foot & body massage, then falling into bed not long after

brunch at Ghim Moh market, comprised of chee cheong fun, paper thosai & a hot teh tarik to chase it all down

good conversation + good company (Lyd, XT, M) + good Japanese food on a Friday night

dozing off on the sofa to the soothing sounds of Kings of Convenience, lulled by the Sunday afternoon breeze

{Kings of Convenience album cover}

This week, I feel like I really relaxed for the first time in a long time, despite doing quite a bit anyway… It’s like I finally let out a sigh of relief and managed to enjoy it for a while. A pleasant surprise given the number of things I’ve got going on recently.
